Fantasy Football Week 13 – Err...
... Not much more to say than that. Who would have
thought? Chelsea win, Arsenal and Man Utd draw against (let’s face it) inferior
opposition (not taking anything away from Newcastle, but it wasn’t a penalty),
Man City and Liverpool draw, and Wigan beat Sunderland to leave Blackburn
Rovers at the bottom of the table.
Of course, the weekend fixtures were completely overshadowed
by the death of Gary Speed, the 42 year old Wales manager, and we extend our
thoughts and prayers to his family who have had to suffer this tragedy. It was
a fitting tribute for Swansea to play their match against Aston Villa, and even
more fitting that they kept a clean sheet. Let’s look at the Fantasy Table:

So the Stylistics stay at the top of the table for
another week, but the JFM Typhoons close the gap by 8 points. Bizsale move
ahead of Peds Reds into third, with Wafflezzzzzzz and Riley’s Rangers close
behind. At the bottom of the table, It’s Business Time move ahead of Suffolk
Web Directory after being stuck on the same number of points as them last week,
whilst the Geordie Bag Boys and Decaserve Donuts close the gap slightly on the
rest of the field. The top scorers this week were The Number Crunchers with 54
points, which means they move up one place to 11th.
Best player in the league this week was Emmanuel
Adebayor, with John Terry getting special mention. Best player in the
Premiership this week was, of course, Thomas Vermalaen, for scoring both goals
in the 1-1 draw between Arsenal and Fulham.
Next week... surely it can only get better?
